I have a six-year-old daughter who adores clothes, accessories and dressing up. Margot’s passion for fashion has reached new levels and she and her cousin will play a game called ‘fashion girls’ that they invented for literally hours. The game sees them strut up and down an imaginary runway and discuss what they’re wearing – like two tiny Joan Rivers on an Oscar’s red carpet.
To nurture this love even further, for Christmas, Margot received a Barbie-branded sewing machine but her tiny fingers aren’t quite dexterous enough to work it yet so when we were gifted the Style 4 Ever Design Studio toy to review I knew it would be a sure fire hit.
Inside the box you will find everything a budding designer needs to create exciting new designs. With textured sheets of sticky backed patterned paper, stickers, gems and three sets of stencils featuring a range of clothing silhouettes.
It also comes with two different types of model sheets, one with the model already coloured in and the other with the model left blank meaning you can let your imagination run wild and come up with your own patterns and designs using the six coloured pencils that are included.
What we liked
Margot especially loved the different textured fabrics and the cute stickers of bags, shoes and sunglasses and I found the black elastic bands that are used to keep the model sheet in place whilst drawing a particularly handy feature, especially for younger kids.
What we didn’t
We loved this toy and it was really difficult finding fault with it. If we had to pick something, the tape securing the rolls of patterned paper was difficult to remove but that doesn’t affect game play or the toy itself.
