Made to Measure Window Blinds

Ordering Process
The ordering process was very simple. First, you need to decide on what type of blinds you are interested in from a selection of wooden, roller, vertical, venetian, skylight, roman, conservatory, or perfect fit blinds. We decided on two matching blinds for our living room, one for the front window and the other for the window that faces the back garden. We have always loved the Vertical Blinds design so we choose that, next we needed to decide on the colour. As we wanted something to match our existing wallpaper, we choose the Burst Soft Grey option Next, we had to get our windows measured, luckily there was ample of step-by-step instructions as well as a youtube videos on how to measure the window on their website. We now needed to decide if we wanted outside recess or inside recess. We have our curtains fixed on the outside recess so our blinds had to be in the inside recess. Fitting Process
The step-by-step guide was provided in the fitting instructions which even stated what are the items required as well as what tools you need such as a screwdriver, drill, tape measure and pencil before you start. Although my husband is a DIY genius and did not need much help, it was clear enough for any non-DIY person to understand and fit themselves. Just a note of reminder, that we were supplied with the bracket but nothing to attach it with ie screws or mountings, these we had to get separately, so do get these before you start.
What did we think about Made to Measure Window Blinds?
We totally love our blinds as it is perfect for our home. We think we have purchased the blinds at the right time as well as both our children are bigger now and we are not too worried about the safety aspects of it. We think Make My Blind did a great job, from the ordering process to the delivery process. One of our blinds (front window) was 3m in length and it was delivered in a thick cardboard protective well-packaged tube via a delivery van. Luckily my husband is a DIY expert so he managed to get the holes drilled and the blinds fixed over an afternoon. We found that the blinds glide easily on the rails and it opens and closes easily. The mechanism is very smooth and the blind material is of good quality. We love the option of either opening the blinds slightly in the morning or having it completely wide open. We also love the fact that we can now opt to keep the curtains open whilest keep the blinds slightly closed for privacy.
It was also wonderful that Make My Blinds had a wide variety of options on their website from different types, colours, styles, designs and even material. There are lots of warning notes included in the instruction sheets and via tags etc to remind parents that blinds are dangerous and proper care must be taken. Our only comment would be that the Instruction for Top Fixing diagram was great but the instructions would have been better if it provided a more comprehensive calculation for drilling the holes.
Things to take note of :
- Its clearly stated on the fitting instruction that – “The installation of this product should be conducted by someone who is competent in DIY” (which luckily for my case is my husband)
- We found the most tedious part was the measuring and the drilling, the blinds were easy to assemble, using the clip-on technique
- We were supplied with the bracket but nothing to attach it with ie screws or mountings, these we had to get separately
- The blinds came with lots of tags reminding parents that blinds can be a safety hazard and to ensure that the safety decide is correctly installed and the cords and chains are kept out of reach of children. There are also reminders to ensure that the cords are not twisted or tied together to create a loop.
- Vertical blinds are better for large windows (this is our preference/opinion)

I purchased new blinds when I moved into my place. Now going into our 3rd year here they are starting to break apart (the cat doesn’t help, trying to nudge into them when I close them). I wish I’d have gotten a better quality though. I like that these are made to measure.
