There’s nothing worse than returning from a holiday and being faced with cleaning a dirty home. But thankfully we had enlisted the help of Fantastic Services to professionally spruce up our house in Nantwich, Cheshire, and save us from donning our own rubber gloves.
Currently expanding across the UK, the company offers more than 25 domestic services, from regular cleaning to pest control.
We opted for domestic cleaning, arranging a date and time for six labour hours, and were told the team would be bringing their own products and equipment.
We were asked in advance to give details of our home, including the number of rooms and our cleaning priorities. This preparation showed the company was both professional and experienced.
About a week before the appointment the company got in touch to request a change of time, which we were happy to agree to.
On the day of the cleaning, the team of three turned up promptly (in fact, about 10 minutes early). They were friendly and put on overshoes as they arrived.
I asked if they could start in the office, so we could carry on with our own work, and they were happy to oblige.
We agreed they would clean the whole house, including the inside of the windows, and they set to work.
Because they were a team of three, the six labour hours took two hours in total, which limited the disruption to our working day (my husband and I both work from home).
Our verdict
We were delighted with the results. The team worked quickly and efficiently to provide a thorough clean of our four-bedroom property.
They had a particularly tough job because our pet cat’s hair seems to spread throughout the whole house (she has a number of favoured sleeping spots). Plus, we’d been on holiday, so there was sand and a general build-up of grime everywhere.
Appliances such as our kitchen hob and sink were left sparkling, and I was pleased to see the muddy paw prints had been cleaned away. Our bins were emptied, cobwebs tackled – and even the plugholes were treated to a spruce.
There was little to fault, although in hindsight I regretted not writing down a detailed list of our priorities as I noticed some of the TV equipment and ornaments were still dusty. However, there is only so much that can be achieved in the time available.
I would most definitely recommend Fantastic Services thanks to their professional, efficient service, and for taking a dreaded post-holiday task off our hands.

Sounds like they are fairly dialed in. I like the idea of making a priority list, especially once you use a service a few times you can specify things that need extra attention. I love it when I can get all my doors and light switches wiped.
I totally agree, sometimes it is more organised with a priority list as 6 hours is not a very long time if the house needs a good cleaning
I think once a while we need to engage cleaning service company to help us out in our home too. Some stubborn spot and areas cant be done on our own and need professional cleaning.

This is much better as if you are having a party or closer to festival time you can just get them to come over for some hours to get the cleaning job done
