September Back to School Guide

[Ad-gifted] We can’t believe that it is September already which only means that the Summer holidays has finally come to an end and our children will be starting to get back to school this coming week.  This year has indeed been challenging and posed a lot of uncertainties with a new way of doing things.  Many of us did our first… first staycation, first camping in the garden, first experience of homeschooling, first time working from home and discovering new walking and cycling routes which we never knew existed around our area.  As we get back to some form of normality, we want to share some of our favourite back to school items with our readers to help your children get back to school.

In this guide, we share some must-have items such as a selection of healthy lunchbox sized snacks from Organix, Treads Measuring Gauge + Tape to ensure that you are able to measure your child’s feet at the comfort of your home as well as Budz themed Backpack and Lunch Bag from Smiggle which is super cute and practical at the same time.  We also share some cool Just Hype Wallet and Faux Fur Leopard Pencil Case as well as Childs Farm Hand Wash, Bath, Sun Cream and Moisturiser Set to keep little ones clean and well moisturised.

Hope you enjoy this guide and are now ready for the ‘new norm’ and some sort of routine again.

Healthy Lunchbox sized snacks from Organix

My four-year-old was very excited to receive these Organix products in the post! Not only do they stand out because of their fun coloured packaging that you can always spot from a mile off in the supermarket, their range now includes a very special guest and his tasty Gruffalo claws! The classic children’s storybook favourite – The Gruffalo – takes centre stage on these fun snacks that have a no junk promise. Like all of their other products, they’re totally organic (the clue is in the name!).

Avoiding unhealthier options never felt so easy with the Organix range. No artificial colours or flavours are found in their snacks that even include little gingerbread men; perfect for a quick treat for your little ones. They’re the perfect size to pop in the kid’s lunch boxes and you can rest assured knowing that they’re satisfied that they’ve had some ‘treats’ to accompany their lunch and you can feel guilt-free knowing that they were junk-free. Some of their products are even gluten-free and vegetarian and vegan friendly! You can find them on their fun-filled website  (and their packaging is so fun for little ones to receive in the post too!) or from most supermarket retailers.

They’re also super reasonably priced. For these particular products we received, the prices are as follows: Strawberry & Apple Soft Oaty Bar: £0.59p, Gingerbread Men: £2.23 and Gruffalo Claws at just £2.00 per 4x15g pack. There are lots of flavours to choose from so there something for everyone.

Treads Measuring Gauge + Tape

My children love their Treads School Shoes as they are classy looking, practical and well made for adventurous little feet. If you are looking to get new school shoes for your children and struggling to get their feet measured then do get the measuring gauge and tape from Treads.  During the lockdown and summer holidays, I have realised that both my children’s feet has suddenly grown and I have had to get new pumps, school shoes as well as trainers. We all know the importance of getting children’s feet measured accurately so that the right shoe size can be purchased online.

I found this measuring gauge and tape simple enough to use at home.  I was able to measure my children’s feet quickly and accurately using their clear instructions.  Another plus point to note is that I could redeem the cost of the measuring tool when I bought the next pair of shoes (over £40) via the discount code which will be sent with the confirmation-of-purchase email.  The Treads foot measuring gauge and tape was quickly delivered and only cost £4.99, so totally worth getting this tool so you plan to get your children’s feet measured accurately at home.

With our kids growing older year by year, having a good strong backpack to carry everything from raincoats, school books, pencil case and homework file is so important.  This is one of the things we tend to get for the children before they start the new school year. This lovely backpack from Smiggle’s Budz collection is not only eyecatching and cute but my daughter is easily able to spot her bag from a distance.

It has two tiers of storage so you are able to separate all of your children’s snacks.

The lunch bag is insulated and comes with easy to wipe lining and is BPA free and food safe as well.  Measuring 24.5cm x H 15cm and a diameter of 15.5cm, the lunchbox comes with a name label holder and carry handle and helps to keep your lunch cool.  This cool lunch bag is priced at £18 and comes in three other different colours/designs. Childs Farm Hand Wash, Bath, Sun Cream and Moisturiser Set

I just love Childs Farm products! As a mum to a 4-year-old who has sensitive skin, it’s hard finding products that her skin doesn’t react to. A lot of children’s products on the market seem to focus on fun packaging over being kind to skin, whereas Child’s Farm manages to tick both boxes. This kit included 3-1 swim, perfect for when you take your little ones swimming as it’s a shampoo, conditioner and shower gel all in one, saving faffing in the shower and making your swim bag much lighter!

It also included hand wash and moisturiser – ideal for current circumstances getting your child into a good habit of washing their hands. They smell refreshingly of citrus as they are rich in the essential oils of grapefruit and tea tree. This pack also included factor 30 and 50 sun cream, again perfect for my 4-year-old and also my 6-month-old. They’re unfragranced, lightweight and have UVA & UVB protection. All are travel-sized so are perfect to take on trips and holidays. All Child’s Farm products are paediatrician and dermatologically tested and suitable for eczema-prone skin which really does go to show how mild these products are for children’s skin.

They make a lovely gift for both children and parent, as I as a parent loved receiving them too knowing that the products will not be harsh on my kids’ skin. My little girl loves the packaging and was unusually excited for bath time! Thank you Childs Farm! The hand wash is priced at £4.00 (250ml), the moisturiser £4.00, the 3 in 1 Baby Swim £4.00 and their Sun Cream £12 (125ml) and you can purchase these from their website here.

These are lovely back to school items. Thankfully we’ve escaped the buying (and hours choosing!) backpacks as they went unused for so long last school year!

I love the hype bits though x

Such lovely Back to School suggestions! A foot measuring gauge would have been seriously handy – I wouldn’t have had such a shock when Liv’s feet were measured last week! Sim x

So much to think about! I used to get excited if I had iced gems in my lunch box as a kid and loved the annual trip to Woolworths and WH Smiths for a pencil case and folders.

Such a fab back to school guide! I am having to think about packed lunches for the first time as Jack has always had school dinners in the past. The Organix snacks sound great!

There’s so much more that kids need to think about going back to school now. The at home shoe measuring looks great, we did see a huge queue at Clarks yesterday x

The measuring gauge is so handy especially if you are ordering shoes online

My grandson and nephews and nieces are all doing full online classes because of the pandemic. Even if they won’t be needing new bags or shoes this school year, I think some new pens and cute stationery would be nice. Oh, and those snacks would be nice to have in stock at home too. The treads foot measuring gauge and tape would come in handy when ordering for shoes online. I think we are going to get that.

I agree, it is nice to give kids a treat and some encouragement even if they are home schooled

I’ve been making sure my kids wear their school shoes at home to make sure they don’t rub at school this week!
