[Ad-gifted] As an avid fan of creative activities, my seven-year-old daughter Margot was thrilled at being given the opportunity of trying out the Airbrush Plush Magic Unicorn craft set from Canal Toys, and it’s safe to say, it exceeded our expectations in more ways than one. From playing salons to letting her imagination run wild, the toy provided loads of opportunity for mess-free creative fun.
What we thought or the Airbrush Plush Magic Unicorn
Firstly, let’s talk about the packaging. The box itself is vibrant and inviting, with lots of inspiring illustrations that instantly capture the imagination. Upon opening, we were greeted with neatly organised contents, including the plush unicorn, airbrush marker, stencils, magic torch and instructions.
The highlight of this set is undoubtedly the airbrush marker, however we were disappointed that it’s not without a few technical flaws – at first we assumed user error and replaced the batteries (again) but even once we’d got it working it kept cutting out. This could have been our misfortune in receiving a faulty product but once we’d managed to get it working with a few taps on the bottom, it worked really well. It’s incredibly easy to use, providing smooth and consistent coverage without any mess. You simply dip the colourful chalk markers in water and insert the pen into the airbrush and the adjustable airflow feature allows for precise control, whether you’re adding intricate details or filling in larger areas.
The included stencils are a fantastic addition, offering a variety of designs to personalise your unicorn creation. Margot enjoyed playing salons and giving her unicorn a colourful makeover using stars, hearts and whimsical patterns, to leave added details on her creation. There are so many stencils to choose from meaning the possibilities are endless. Plus, the stencils are durable and easy to clean, meaning they can be used time and time again.
What we liked about the Airbrush Plush Magic Unicorn
One aspect that pleasantly surprised me was the quality of the plushy unicorn itself. It’s soft, cuddly, and generously sized, making it the perfect canvas for creativity. We also loved the array of stencils that are included. The little magic light was also a fun addition to the toy. You can light up your unicorn and see elements come to light and glow, a feature Margot found particularly captivating.
What we didn’t like about the Airbrush Plush Magic Unicorn
Overall, the play factor and reusability of the toy is fantastic. But the temperamental airbrush was a little frustrating to use at times. Ultimately, this is a fun and engaging activity toy that fosters creativity and imagination.

The airbrush magic unicorn sounds like such a great toy. I love that the toy is a good size although the fact the brush was temperamental is a little worrying and would affect a child’s enjoyment of the product.

My daughter is almost 6 and will love this airbrush plush magic unicorn! She’s really creative and into art and I know that she would enjoy decorating and coloring a unicorn with an airbrush tool. She has also been really into unicorns, fairies, and dragons lately.
