[Ad-gifted] I think everyone, maybe secretly, loves a good game of bingo! So it seemed the right time to introduce my almost four-year-old daughter Jemma to the game.
As spooky season is fast approaching, we opted for Orchard Toys’ Halloween Bingo, one of their mini games range. It’s aimed at children aged 3-6 years but could easily entertain older siblings and parents to make it a game the whole family can play.
The little box contains four bingo boards, lots of round orange trick or treat counters, and a wide variety of Halloween-themed cards – including pumpkin, cauldron, bat, and potion bottle, plus spooky characters such as skeleton, vampire, and mummy.
Each player takes turns picking a card from the deck, though we played it ‘old school’ and I was the bingo caller. If the item on the card matches one on their bingo board, they get to cover it with a trick or treat counter. The game continues as players try to fill their boards with counters.
The player who manages to cover all the items on their board and shout “trick or treat” wins the game.
What we thought of Orchard Toys’s Halloween Bingo?
It was quick and easy to set-up and the mini size of the box means it’s a convenient size to take over to a friend’s house for a spooky playdate and doesn’t take up much space in the toy box.
The whole game is bright, colourful and fun, so Jemma was excited to play it from first opening the box. She is a child who adores all things spooky and loved all of the Halloween-themed objects and characters. Some she recognised straight away, whereas others she was just learning what they were called.
Bingo is a pretty easy concept to grasp, so she soon understood what she needed to do and really got into it, especially as she won the first round! The three of us played it as a family, but I think she could easily play it with one or two of her little friends now she has got to grips with how it works.
It’s the perfect game for my little preschooler, teaching her to focus on the game, follow rules, learning about matching, and counting to see how many more counters she needed to win the game.
Jemma enjoyed playing the game and was ready for more after each round, even asking at bedtime if we could play it again in the morning.
When we had finished playing, she also spent some time playing with it by herself, making up her own little game and enjoying lining up the cards and making piles out of the counters.
As Halloween falls during the school half term holiday, I can see us getting a lot of spooky fun from this game. And it’s great to be able to give her something fun that’s an alternative to all the sugary sweets she’s sure to have.
We have a few playdates lined up and will be taking Halloween Bingo to each one!

I am definitely getting the Halloween Bingo, it seems perfect for Halloween…I can imagine playing it with my daughter, this is so much fun.
