[Ad-gifted] My seven-year-old daughter, Margot, was super excited to try out the Go Gooey Snails Slime Race Set from Canal Toys. As fans of sensory play, it sounded like a fun combination of squishy slime with the added interactive element of racing snails!
The set includes 2 snails, 2 bags of slime, 2 slides, and a small tray. It’s lovely and vibrant, easy to assemble, and the snails are two very cute characters indeed!
I usually steer clear of slime related toys as there isn’t much of a play element. Maybe this is the ‘grown-up’ me speaking, I’m sure my daughter would disagree. So I was thrilled we were able to review this set as it does add an additional dimension for kids who enjoy sensory play and slime.
What we thought of the So Slime Go Gooey Snails Slime Race Set
Whilst we found it a very fun idea, in reality it didn’t always work as expected. Sometimes the slime would pool in the tray at the bottom before you could pop the snails on to race and because of the consistency of the slime, it was rather messy setting it back up again. Of course, this was something Margot enjoyed as it is a very sensory experience.
We did love the racing feature when it worked but after a couple of races, interest dwindled which makes me think a slightly younger child might enjoy the toy more.
The snails themselves came with detachable shells which you can squeeze to suck up the slime sludge, then squeeze again to leave a gooey trail behind. We loved the slurpy sounds and sucking up the slime but there was quite a lot left over.
While the quirky shell suction feature helps to manage some of the inevitable mess, having a lack of proper storage for the leftover slime was a little frustrating, as there was quite a bit we were unable to store once we’d finished playing.

I have not seen this, I know my daughter in law will feel like I would have when mine were little. But my grandaughters love slime as they love anything to do with slime. I do love the concept of this game, although the slime not working as great as it should the sensory side will be lots of fun

I’ve tried to get slims to my daughter, for some reason she thought it’s gross lol…I think the texture was a bit off for her. I will try with this one…
