Toy Review: Rainbow Colours Piano Mat*

Finding fun toys that suit a range of ages can be hard, but often when you want to treat your kids to one toy between them rather than one each it is a task to find the right one. I love a toy that my children can share and enjoy together but when you have a few different ages to consider, other than a video game the options might not be obvious.

If you love a bit of noise and fun jumping about, then this Rainbow Colours Piano Mat is definitely worth checking out. You can make music and dance around have fun and learn to play some tunes all at the same time. This mat is perfect for a rainy day inside, but as it only needs batteries so it is also ideal for a small get together outside, and a great way to keep the kids entertained whilst the adults are catching up on lost time together!

What did we think of the Piano Mat?

This mat is such great fun. It is really light and folds down so that it can easily be stored under a cupboard or even your sofa. It has no plug and just uses three AA batteries for it to work. I think this is such a great design feature, as it means it is really transportable and you have no need to worry if you can’t get near to a plug. We quite often go camping and toys can be a struggle to take but this would be perfect to bring along – again as it is so slight and transportable, and you just have to remember to bring some spare batteries with you and you’re good to go.

The piano also comes with several song sheets, which follow the colours on the mat, which means it is easy to learn a song even if you don’t know the notes. Two of my kids play the piano, but my eldest boy doesn’t, but he still managed to play along regardless. The other plus is the fact that they can really play this together, regardless of their age differences. So again another win!

All in all, this is a super toy and a really nicely made product. It works well and is very tactile. The buttons can be used with your feet or you can sit and play with your hands too, but it is easier when standing. It has a good strong sound too and can go pretty loud, but don’t worry it does have value control so you can make it quieter!
