Children’s Toy Review: Asmodee Board Games – BrainBox Roald Dahl*

[Ad-Gifted] If you are a regular reader of our blog, you would know that we are huge fans of board games and have featured various type of games on the blog over the last few months such as Pandemic as well as Dobble360. Today we will be featuring another fabulous game from Asmodee called BrainBox Roald Dahl.

BrainBox games are fantastic as they help with testing children’s observation and memory skills as well as improving their knowledge.  BrainBox games come in a whole range of subjects, including BrainBox Animals which we have recently featured.  My children had a quick look at the website and immediately decided that they wanted to review BrainBox Roald Dahl game as they both are huge fans of his books.

The game arrived packed in a sturdy, cool magnetic cube box and consisted of the question cards, an hourglass and a dice.  The BrainBox game is ready to play without any setup time needed and can be played with just 1 player or up to 4 players so a great game for the whole family on game nights.  The rules are also pretty straight forward, you need to pick a card and study the front for 10 seconds, then roll the dice and answer a question on the back of the card. If you are correct, you keep the card. The person with the most cards after 10 minutes is the winner!

What did we think?

We love games as this is something my kids enjoy playing on a Sunday morning as we relax and enjoy our rest day. We have featured many of Asmodee’s games and totally loved them and this game is no different. We have to emphasize that their games made from recycled/recyclable materials which are ethically sourced and which is fantastic as we love buying sustainable products. Secondly, this game is perfect for you and your children if your family loves Roald Dahl and his books especially The BFG, Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as the game features questions from these three books. I was surprised at how long my kids were playing this game and how often as well. Here is a little note from both of them.

I thought the BrainBox Roald Dahl game is really good as it is easy to pick up the game rules and what to do also it is really fun and expands knowledge about Roald Dahl’s books and memory, observation. The game is also good because you can have any amount of players that you want even just you! Playing this game along is however is a little boring compared to the two or more players. So I will recommend playing this with a friend or your brother/sister.

I thought the BrainBox Roald Dahl game was good because it is small so you can take it on trips with you.  I also liked the fact that you can play the game as a single-player or more players. I really liked the game because the captions were funny. I thought it would have been better if they featured all of Roald Dahl books instead of just three of his books.
