Children's Toy Review: Asmodee Board Games - Dobble 360

This year’s summer holiday is slightly different for us compared to past years as we tend to either fly back to Malaysia for a holiday to see family or they will come to visit us. This is the first time that we have decided that we would just stay local and do day trips and staycations to limit our travels due to COVID.   Yeah Lifestyle is a member of Asmodee UK‘s Board Game Club Bloggers’ and we have over the last few months featured some of their board games such as Picture Show, BrainBox Animals and DixitWe are once again lucky to have been sent more games to feature on the blog so will start off by featuring Dobble 360 in this review post.

The Dobble 360 is a new way of playing the award-winning visual card game as although the challenge is still the same, this time the cards are turning on a pivoting base so players have to guess the match even though both cards aren’t visible at the same time.  Recommended for ages 6 and up, the game can be played between 2 to 8 players.  It consists of 55 cards, 1 electronic totem which requires 3 x AAA batteries (not included) and 1 rulebook.

The aim of the game is to find the one matching image between one card and another.  Images may be different sizes and placed on any part of the card, making them difficult to spot especially if the totem is moving fast (you can adjust the speed).  Now, every card is different and has only one picture in common with every other card in the deck so you need to have your game face on when you play this.

What we thought of Dobble 360

Dobble 360 is a fun and entertaining game that is also challenging at the same time and tests your memory power.  It is great that the speed of the pivoting totem can be adjusted as we started off slow and increased the speed as both my kids got better at playing the game.   I personally love playing Dobble and found Dobble 360 to be fun as it challenged my memory power and quick hand movement.  My 6-year-old son, Thomas said, “at the start the game I found it very challenging because I could not see both the Dobble 360 cards at the same time and I had a lot of remembering to do but luckily I could adjust the speed of the totem to make it slower”.  My 10-year-old daughter, Madeline added, “I enjoyed playing Dobble 360 as I did not have to move the cards but they moved on their own so it was different”. She also went on to add, “watch out as the other players can cheat if they move to look at the cards before it turned around”.

Where can you buy Dobble 360 and how much does it cost?

You can buy Dobble 360 on Amazon for £19.73. Do check on Amazon for the latest price as this might change if there is a discount.

Final thoughts

Being stuck at home with the kids and keeping them entertained is no easy feat, especially keeping my two away from using electronic gadgets.  I started off reward my children with extra points each time they played Dobble 360 and soon they got hooked on the game. I love spending time as a family and this is a great game for the whole family to play together either at home or if you are heading out to local destinations for your annual camping holiday.   I also found that Dobble 360 kept them entertained and helped them with their concentration of quickly identifying the pictures while the base spins. It took them a few goes before they got used to playing the game but would definitely recommend this if you are a fan of the Dobble Card Game and want to try something different.

This sounds like an interesting game, I have to admit it isn’t one I’ve heard of before. However, your right games right now with people stuck at home is a great idea.

It sure is especially with kids at home and me wanting them to do more play-led activities without the screen

We have this game and have lots of fun with it, so many different options to play and great when you need to sit and cool down a bit from this heat

We have the original Dobble game but not tried this version out. Unsure if we would though, as we like to take ours with us on our family walks.
