Outerwear Review: Helly Hansen’s Women’s Adore Helly Tech Parka*

[Ad-gifted] When it comes to functional fashion, few brands strike the balance quite like Helly Hansen.

Founded in Norway in 1877, the company built its reputation creating professional-grade gear for sailors facing some of the harshest conditions on earth. Today, that same technical expertise carries through to its lifestyle collections, offering outerwear that blends performance, durability and contemporary style for everyday wear. From ski jackets to urban parkas, Helly Hansen continues to design pieces that are as practical as they are polished.

Although technically it is supposed to be Spring, we are still experiencing the odd snow, hail, rain and cold temperatures this past week.  Hence to make the best of our British weather, we will be featuring their Outerwear Review for Women and showcasing the Adore Helly Tech Parka, a coat designed with city living in mind but engineered for real winter weather so you can stay warm and dry, but still stylish.

What I thought of Adore Helly Tech Parka?

This Adore Helly Tech Parka stands out thanks to Helly Hansen’s signature HELLY TECH® Performance fabric, delivering a waterproof yet breathable layer that keeps you dry without overheating. It’s also packed with thoughtful details, from soft fleece-lined pockets and a protective chin guard to reflective elements for darker winter days. The synthetic insulation ensures reliable warmth, even in damp conditions, making it ideal for unpredictable British weather as we have experienced this year.

From a lifestyle perspective, what makes the Adore Parka such a great fit is its versatility. It’s longline and streamlined, giving it a flattering silhouette that works just as well over your office wear on weekdays or your mum jeans on weekends and school drop off/pick ups.

This would also be the perfect coat to wear when you head out on your casual walks in the park or dog walks.  The coat also comes with reflective bands on the sleeves to keep you visible if you are walking at night.

Unlike bulkier winter coats which I have owned before, this particular coat feels lightweight yet substantial, offering comfort without compromising on protection not only from the cold but also from the wind and other elements. Most importantly, this particular design is slimmer fitting and does not make me look enormous.

The parka is available in size XS to XL and three colours ie black, navy and dark jungle (green), we have featured the size M and in dark jungle colour in this post.

If you are wondering, the coat shell and lining is made from 100% Polyamide while the insulation has 100% recycled Polyester. I also love the fact that the coat comes with a number of pockets ie hand pockets and chest pockets with secure zipper closure as well as fold up reflective for walking at night or in the dark. The coat is lined with a soft fleece even in the pockets so it is super comfy to wear it. The adjustable hood is definitely a plus point and helps keep the ear and head snugly and dry.

Again I prefer this design compared to my previous coat which came with a fluffy hoodie as that used to get wet and soggy. This coat perfectly zips up, almost covering your whole face. So you can still see but are protected from all the elements.

Ultimately, this is a coat designed for real life and everyday wear such as city commutes, daily walks  and everything in between. If you’re looking for outerwear that seamlessly blends style with serious performance, then the Adore Helly Tech Parka is a standout investment piece that delivers on both fronts.
