March Gift Guide – Mother’s Day Theme*

by Yeah Lifestyle
We can’t believe that in almost a week it will be Mother’s Day as it feels like only recently we celebrated Valentine’s Day. So to celebrate Mothers and every single woman out there who has mothered a child, nurtured them and taught them about love, life and goodness, we are dedicating our March Gift Guide with presents you can shower yourself (we know many people who buy themselves gifts), your mum or the woman in your life.  This month we share a chic Square Eternity Rose Bouquet by Lux Florals UK which lasts for a year. Next, we also share about CBD Oil Products from CBDHemporium which have been infused into chocolate, tea and coffee…I know each of you may have your opinions on this, but studies have shown that CBD  Oil can be used as a supplement to help ease your pain so why not give this a go. For mums who love their gardens and spend hours outdoor, we recommend the Wooden Aldsworth Pot Ladder from Garden Tradings while for mums who love cooking, the Stainless Steel Egg Poacher from VonShef is a winner. Finally, for health-conscious mums who love to detox and are teetotal, we share two drinks from Botonique to help you with your cleansing diet program. Hope you enjoy this gift guide and this inspires you to get the right gift with the right price.

Chic Square Eternity Rose Bouquet

We were sent this beautiful Eternity Rose Bouquet which consisted of 9 white roses beautifully packed in a rose gold custom made box with personalised words and cards for inclusion into our Mother’s Day Gift Guide.  I personally love flowers, and especially roses but hate the fact that they don’t last long and will wilt and wither after a couple of weeks (if I am lucky). I remember drying them up when I was younger in a bid to preserve their beauty for a longer period of time. So when I was told by Tamsin, the owner of Lux Florals UK that these stunning ‘real roses’ are hand picked and all bouquets are made to order and have a lifespan of one year, I was surprised and curious at the same time.  The roses arrived in a box and was delivered by Royal Mail Delivery (it does not matter if you are not at home, as these roses can be collected from the Royal Mail Office the next day which is a good thing if you are at work or out all day). Ordering these online is quite straight forward, you will be given the option to include a handwritten personalised message, as well as to include a custom box message as well as to pick a bouquet style.   Now these roses arrived in a beautiful box and the packaging was stunning and made me feel special as I was opening each layer in anticipation. I did the first thing which felt natural to me, I smelt the roses, but they had no scent but looked exactly like a real rose. I read the instruction which explained how to care for the roses, and this included keeping it away from direct sunlight as well as not to water them. These special roses are grown in the stunning hills of Ecuador, handpicked and checked constantly for perfection, hence they all looked absolutely perfect.  I kept touching the roses as I could not believe that they would last for a year, but they have not wilted at all since I received them a couple of weeks ago.  Would I give this to my mum? Yes, I certainly would as these roses are not only stunning and special but came beautifully packaged in a box, tissue paper, gift bag, personalised message and I felt really special opening it.  You can purchase one eternity rose for £29 or this exact Eternity Rose Bouquet for £105 especially for Mother’s Day or for the special woman in your life at any time of the year here.

CBD Oil Products

We received a collection of goodies containing CDB oil, a packet of coffee, loose leaf fruit tea and a box of raw organic chocolates, which are gourmet infused with the CBD oil.  The oil is described as having properties that aid migraines and insomnia. It’s nice to think that a piece of chocolate or a brew could relieve this in some way. We tried the coffee as per the instructions and even used a French Press for this, which the packet also suggests is the best method to brew the coffee. This had an amazing flavour, the coffee was strong tasting but really smooth and it wasn’t until getting to the end of the pot that I found the taste unusual, but still not unpleasant. What was even more surprising is that my friend that joined me on the taste testing had had a headache all morning and within 30 minutes of having the coffee her headache had gone! The 100g packet of ground bean coffee costs £17.95.  Next, we tried the chocolates which were really enjoyable but did not taste like a bar of traditional chocolate, so don’t expect this when trying them. They have a stronger cacao flavour and are much darker and richer in taste.  These are sugar-free, and therefore have been sweetened with Maple Syrup, which makes them really sweet. The white chocolates are made with pure cocoa butter, which has a much chewier texture than the dark chocolates within the box. These 100mg boxes are sold for £19.95.  Finally the Turmeric & Ginger Herbal Infusion Tea, which when opening the packet, smelt amazing. So fruity and fresh. However, once brewed for the recommended amount of time (which was 5-7 minutes) it still wasn’t a particularly strong flavoured tea. However, its mild taste meant that it was easy to drink, and it was really lovely in flavour just very subtle. This came in a 28g, loose tea packet and this cost £12.85. All of these products are great in exploring ways in which you can introduce CBD into your diet. Especially if you suffer regularly with stress headaches. As it states on the packets these products are food supplements and not intended to treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. These are great as a Mother’s Day Gift Hamper if your mum would like to try CBD infused oil. To order these, head to their website here.

Aldsworth Pot Ladder
As we head towards Spring and see more of the sun, a lot of us especially garden enthusiasts are spending more and more time outdoors. I know a lot of mums, including my own who love gardening and spend hours tending to flowers, vegetables and plants in the garden. So to recognise that, we are sharing this sunning Aldsworth Pot Ladder from Garden Trading in our gift guide for mums. This is a beautiful varying height ladder, crafted in Spruce and consists of 3 shelves. It came in a flat pack and was very easy to assemble as it was already hinged and just required some tightening using the alan key which was included in the package (so anyone can assemble this easily).  Although this versatile shelving unit has been recommended as a plant pot holder, really you could use it to display anything indoor, outdoor or even in the conservatory such as photos, drinks, vases or wine bottles.  Measuring 91cm n height, 59cm in width and 48 cm in length, the trays are recommended to hold 5kg pots (on the lowest shelf and a maximum of 10 kg for the middle and top shelf), I found that I could not fit large pots on the tray, just cute small ones.  I also loved the design element of the ladder and the colour of the wood. It just looks so rustic and stylish placed indoor our outdoor.  This stunning piece retails for a hefty £90 and you can purchase one for yourself or your mum here.

Stainless Steel Egg Poacher

What do you get a mum who loves cooking and constantly spend hours creating these amazing dishes for you? Well, why not get her a stainless steel egg poacher which also doubles up as a stand-alone frying pan from VonShef? This non-stick frying pan which comes with 4 removable egg inserts is dishwasher safe and comes with a 2-year warranty. Costing £24.99 the pan which measures 20cm X 5cm is just the right size for me to whip up a quick breakfast of poached eggs, fried sausages, bacon and tomatoes in the morning. I have never mastered how to poach eggs perfectly before but was confident to give this pan a go.  I just needed to place boiling water in the pan, crack the eggs into the egg inserts and cover and poach them.  I would recommend poaching them for 3 minutes for runnier eggs and 4 minutes if you don’t like them as runny.  I served the egg in the egg inserts on the plate and my kids enjoyed them very much as it reminded them of eggs and soldiers.  This Stainless Steel Egg poacher pan comes with 4 removable egg inserts (I found out that M sized egg is the perfect egg size for this).  This pan is suitable to be used on electric hob, gas, induction, ceramic or even halogen stove. The best part about the pan is that you can remove the egg inserts and then use the bottom of the pan to heat or fry up some veggies to go with the egg as a one-pot dish. The pan also comes with a glass top cover and silicone grip for easy handling. You can purchase the exact item from here.

Botonique Non-Alcoholic Drink

We were sent two bottles of British-made natural, dry, sparkling non-alcoholic drink from Botonique which is an alternative for wine lovers to be featured in our Mother’s Day gift guide. The first was Botonique Original while the second, Botonique Blush.  To be honest, we do love our occasional glass of wine, lager and gin hence we were curious to see if these drinks would be a good alternative to what we are used to.  Now to start off we tried the Blush first which had different levels of complex flavours of spices and herbs and then the Original flavour which basically tasted like dry wine but with a herb aftertaste. I personally preferred the Original flavour to Blush (maybe because we were having Oriental cuisine- noddles and curry sauce – and the drink went well with the food or beacuase I personally love dry wines anyway).  It is stated that the drinks have no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavours, colours, preservatives, caffeine or sulphites and in addition it contains a unique blend of vitamins, minerals and amino acids which alcohol is known to deplete.  Being occasional alcohol drinkers, we will definitely be sticking to our usual tipple but would recommend this for mums who are into detox and who are on a cleansing diet. These bottles are sold as a pair for £15 each and you can buy these wine alternatives here.
