Spring may not officially begin until 20 March but as we start the first week of March, we are ready for lovely sunshines and longer daylight time. If you live in the UK, March is also the month where we celebrate Mothering Sunday or Mother’s Day. This is one of the most important day where Mothers/Godmothers, partners, wife or motherly-figures are recognised for everything they do in our life (of course mums also need to be recognised everyday for all they do).
In this guide, we share four fabulous gift ideas to help you pick the perfect gift for your loved one . These items would also be great as a thank you present or birthday gift as well. We showcase the Indian Spice Tin With 9 Spices from Spice Kitchen as it is such a beautiful gift for mums who love to cook, followed by Afternoon Tea Experience Box from Buyagift for the mum who loves to head out and enjoy an Afternoon Tea with cakes, tea and scones.
Next, we showcase natural based skincare products from Angela Langford which will help you relax and enjoy some self-care time. Finally, we share three fabulous wines, the ODE au Muscat Moelleux (White Muscat), Foncalieu Griset 2020 (Rose) and Montlobre Septem Quercus (Red) from Pays d’Oc to gift mums who love pairing their meals with the right wine.
Now that being said, don’t feel guilty if you want to purchase these items for yourself as a little self-love goes a long way and you definitely deserve it!

Indian Spice Tin With 9 Spices
We love supporting ethical, family and local business, hence we are proud to share this beautiful Indian Spice Tin from Spice Kitchen as one of our Mother’s Day Gift Ideas. This of course would also make a gift for any experienced chef or homecook.. man or women, all year round.
Cooking Indian Food can sometimes be tedious as there are lots of spices involved and storing them in jars or bottles can be a hassle. The Indian Spice Tin (or Masala Dabba as it is traditionally known) is a staple in every Indian kitchen. Each tin contains the core spices you will need to make authentic Indian curries.
The stainless steel storage tin which measures 19cm (outer storage) includes seven removable smaller tins for convenience and a small metal spoon for accurate dispensing as well as a perspex lid to ensure freshness. The spice tin also includes 9 very aromatic spices which are Garam Masala (20g), Chilli Powder (20g), Cumin Seeds (20g), Ground Coriander (20g), Turmeric Powder (20g), Mustard Seeds (20g), Cassia (5g), Cardamom (2g) and Cloves (1g). The spices are freshly made and in small batches in the UK and extremely fragrant!
On top of that, you will also receive a free recipe guide with lots of quick and easy dishes which you can recreate. I also love the beautiful and very unique hand sewn sari wrap idea, so no extra wrapping is needed. Spice Tin also ensures that for every tin sold, you are helping to ensure a schoolchild receives a nutritious meal in the UK and India. This must-have gorgeous handmade Spice Tin costs £35 and you can purchase it from Spice Kitchen. Refills are also available at affordable prices, in varying quantities.
Afternoon Tea Experience Box from Buyagift
I love receiving surprise gifts via the post especially when I am not expecting it. I find there is something about opening a package and wondering what is inside or who it is from. This feeling is unreplaceable hence this Afternoon Tea experience from Buyagift is the perfect gift to give someone if you are unable to see personally this Mother’s Day.
Buyagift vouchers are also valid for 24 months and it is for two people, so it is ideal as they can pick a date/time which they are comfortable to head out for the experience and won’t feel rushed to go out on Mother’s Day especially if they are avoiding crowds.
I personally love Afternoon Teas as there is nothing like heading out for some delicious cakes, homemade scones and fancy sandwiches, it just feels very indulgent and special.
The gift can be sent to anyone staying in the UK as it is a perfect way to celebrate traditional British culture whilst spending some quality time with a loved one. With 465 venues to choose from, you will be spoilt for choices on which venue to pick from country manors or city locations. This experience costs £34.99 and you can buy one from their website here. Do note they also have other experiences such as Spa Days, Vineyard Tours and West end theatre tickets so their website is worth a browse.
Angela Langford’s Skincare Products
We love promoting brands such as Angela Langford as their products are locally handmade in the UK, organic, vegan and cruelty-free. Our avid readers would remember us featuring Angela Langford’s Bloom & Glow as well as Clean Sweep in our guides before. If the name rings a bell, you might remember Angela Langford as being one of the finalists on the Masterchef series, she has since launched her own range of natural and organic skincare for women who want a natural alternative to the mega brands that are widely available.
Taking time for some beauty skincare ritual is so important especially for a busy mum hence we are showcasing more of their products for this year’s Mother’s Day Guide. We start by sharing three wonderful skincare products starting with Angela Langford’s Balancing Act which is an anti-ageing daily moisturiser with chia seed, willowherb and evening primrose which helps to sooth fine lines, wrinkles and improve elasticity and balance in the skin. Freshen Up is a non-alcoholic hydrating & refreshing tonic made with rose, orange blossom & aloe vera that not only moisturise the skin but the natural tonic also contains natural oils to help with anti-ageing process. Finally, Scrub Up is a clearing and brightening facial exfoliator made with papaya, bilberry & lemon which will help remove dead skin whilst helping to renew healthy new skin cells.
A 50ml size bottle of the Balancing Act will cost you £31, a 100ml size bottle of the Freshen Up will cost you £14 while a 100ml of Scrub Up will cost your £27.50. These products from Angela Langord can be purchase from their website here.
The perfect gift set which comes so beautifully wrapped is perfect to get someone you love to help them with their skincare routine. They do also have other face and body products for you to choose from their website.

White Muscat, Rose and Red Wine from Pays D’Oc
A bottle of wine is generally a great gift to get for those who either love cooking with them or drinking them. We often shares various wine recipe pairing ideas on the blog to showcase which wine is best served with which food. Sometimes I find that if you are not sure what type of wine is preferred, it is best bringing all three ie white, rose and red.
So for Mother’s Day we are showcasing three fabulous Pays D’Oc wines; the Ode Au Muscat Moelleux (White) which is a fresh tasting sweet muscat wine made from over ripped grapes. This wine would taste its best when served chilled and paired with a light salad, duck main course or foie gras due to its fruity taste. The second wine, Foncalieu Griset Rosé 2020 which is a light fruity and floral dry wine perfect to pair with salad and feta cheese or a fish dish such as salmon filets with jalapeño-spiked mango salsa.
Finally the third wine, Montlobre Septem Quercus 2018 (Red) is a stunning full-bodied deep red wine that reminds you of classic flavours with a twist of fruitiness. The oak-aged wine is made with a combination of merlot and cabernet sauvignon grapes and is best paired at the end of the meal with dark chocolate or raspberries. The wines range between £5 to £20 and can be purchase from here.
