Review: Potwells Dinosaur and Unicorn Luxury Long Hot Water Bottle*

We were sent two Potwells Long Hot Water Bottle, one was in a shape of a Dinosaur and the other Unicorn, which also doubles up as a warm soft and snuggly animal perfect to cuddle with at night.  Both my children were super excited to try out this Potwells Long Hot Water Bottle as my son loves dinosaurs while my daughter loves unicorns.  This is also such a lovely gift to give little ones, especially during the cold winter months but then again these cuddly toys can be used all year round (as you can remove the YuYu inner bottles).  Read on to see what both my children thought of these cute snuggly hot water bottles.

About Potwells & What we thought about these long hot water bottles

Julie Ann and Nicola are the mothers who are the founders, creators and owners of Potwells, which is a company that produces luxury children’s goods. They first came up with the idea back in 2013 and have grown from a small start-up to the business it is today. Their inspiration to set up the company came from them having their own children and it has grown along with the growth of their families; between them, they have seven children! So its a family business in every sense of the word and it has to balance with their day to day lives being mothers, as well as the running of the business.

When designing these children’s long hot water bottles, Julie Ann and Nicola were very much inspired by the YuYu hot water bottles that are aimed to relieve chronic pain in adults, which you are able to wrap around your lower back or neck. The Potwells Long Hot Water Bottles inner is supplied by YuYu, and the outer has been designed by Potwells, ensuring the quality of this super cute and snuggly warmer. My two older children enjoyed lying with them on the sofa and having the water bottle along the length of the body keeping them lovely and cosy.

Another interesting design feature is the raised bubbles inside the hot water bottle, which ensures they stay warm for a long time. This was something else that we found to be true, we filled the water bottles up with hot water from the tap and it took two hours for them to begin to cool, however, when they had them overnight, we found they stayed warmer for much longer, even still feeling warmish in the morning.

My children haven’t really put them down since we reviewed them and have been getting in from school and cuddling with them whilst they relax on the sofa at the end of the tiring day.  These are also perfect to keep warm and cost as the days are now getting colder.  I have to admit that these hot water bottles actually making them sit still, which is a miracle!  If you think you know someone who might like one – you can get one here from Potwell website. What are they made from?

Powell hot water bottles are made from 100% natural rubber, if you’re like me you might wonder what the difference is between this and a standard hot water bottle. Often hot water bottles are made with acrylic and other synthetic materials that have the same consistency as natural rubber, which actually comes from rubber tree sap. These trees are often found in the Congo or in South America.

Note that natural rubber does contain latex, which can be an allergen, but it is BPA free.

How much do they cost and where can I purchase them?

These Potwells Luxury Hot Water Bottles are priced at £39.99 but at the moment I noticed on their website they have £15 off so they come in at just under £25 which I think is a great price. You really feel like its a quality product and is perfect as a Christmas gift. I was actually thinking of getting a third for my youngest, and there so happens to be a third character which is a zebra.
