Why go to the moon when you can take a trip into space in this fabulous SONGMICS Space Pattern Play Tent. Your little one will think it’s out of this world! The fun, colourful and sturdy design is perfect for doing anything from chilling with a book to enjoying a picnic with your favourite soft toys! The instructions were easy to follow so your intrepid explorers won’t have to wait long before they can let their imagination run wild inside the tent (which had more room in it than we first thought judging by the size of the compact zip-up carry bag that it came in!). Assembly was pretty straightforward, although two people would make it easier than one, and it took no longer than ten minutes to put together. The bright design will capture your little one’s attention and they will want to help you to put it together. When it’s ready, you’ll see that it’s sturdier than a pop-up tent-perfect for the boisterous play of a budding space cadet!
Although the look of the tent did appeal to my 6 and 10-year-old boys, it was my friend’s little one who was the most excited by it. He couldn’t wait to explore inside and the windows are perfect for young children to peek excitedly out at you. We chose to set the tent up inside so that we could make a den, but it would be perfect to take outside on a dry day, where it could become the centre of many adventures.
What we thought of the Play tent
We loved the Space Play Tent. The fact that you can move it from room to room easily or take it outside to continue the adventures if you want to, makes it really versatile. It might be though that you have the perfect corner of a playroom or bedroom in mind and, like us, set it up as part of a reading or relaxing corner. It can be made to feel really comfy with some cushions and blankets too. There’s plenty of room to get some toys in there and we felt that it helps to encourage independent play. The overall design, which comes with useful velcro fastenings on the doors, means you can open up the tent or play a game of hide and seek when the fastenings are released. All of this will inspire your little one’s imagination and could lead to hours of fun on their own or with a friend.
We’d definitely recommend this as a present and think that it would lift the spirits of your little one up to the stars!
Some of the practicalities…
The 19OT polyester fabric means that the play tent is durable. The long fixing band also prevents the poles from coming out and provides additional safety for kids when they are playing in the tent. You’ll also find that the rubber covered wires protect your little one’s legs when they’re getting in and out of the tent. The play tent is EN71 certified. EN71 covers the safety standards for all toys for children up to the age of 14 – products that are not intended as toys but look like toys (e.g those made for decorative purposes) are still included under the directive. It also divides toy suitability into age ranges and warnings for toys that are unsuitable for children under three. The legislation is in six parts and covers aspects of safety that include flammability, toxicity and safety marking.

Wow. That tent would give any child hours of fun. So colorful and visually appealing. Easy set up too. I want to get one for my grandson, but I am worried that my dog would want to get in the tent too. Haha.
