Interior Lighting Review: Lights and Switches by Elesi*

So let’s turn off the puns and tell you about Elesi – who are well established in the electronic market, having dealt with switches and electricals with a collective of over 30 years. They now also sell a fabulous range of chic lighting with some truly eclectic designs. What we thought of the Elesi lights and switches

The lights we received from Elesi are of high quality and extremely stylish, we chose to get some lights to fit in our kitchen and they are industrial in style – which is the look we wanted, but there are many more styles to choose from on Elesi’s website. We also chose two for our hallway that are chic and made from smoked glass.

The Argile light that we have fitted in the kitchen is black metal with a solid metal fitting at the top of the pendant, the cord is covered in a woven fabric rather than a traditional plastic finish, creating a more pleasing aesthetic. The top fixture from the cord to the ceiling is also metal and very solid. The cord can be adjusted to fit any height required – ours are of all different lengths due to our sloped ceiling.

The switches are so stylish and have a solid on-off movement, exuding quality. Finally, the Goslett light is absolutely beautiful as you will see from the photos. The light is blown glass and is fitted in our hallway. We chose the smoked glass as we thought this would suit our Alice in Wonderland style decor. When lit its really bright, so don’t let the dark colour of the glass put you off as it doesn’t affect the light it emits.

The lights need to be fitted by an electrician, so thankfully (after a bit of a wait due to coordinating diaries) my dad – a retired electrician – could come and put them up for us. Although fairly straightforward it is worth taking the time to get a professional, as you want to make sure your lights are working properly and safely.

As well as lights we also got switches, which we were in need of updating in our dining room area and we thought they would work well with our updated lights. Switches can be the last thought at times but ornate ones can update a room at a reasonable price. Again the range of switches it huge too, and there are plenty of colours to choose from, so they will suit most home decors.

What you notice with Elesi – as mentioned previously – is the quality of their goods. They have some high prices on their ornate lighting but they also have some extremely reasonable lighting that is of equal design and will feature well in any room of the house. As well as fixtures you can get a good range of lightbulbs too. Some bulbs have a vintage feel, warm light, low light or bright, to suit however you wish to light your space.
