We love our Gumbies footwear and have already featured a few of our favourite products such as their Gumbies flip flops which are perfect to be worn during the warm summer months or more recently, their comfy Gumbies Outback Slippers which is the perfect Autumnal slippers. In this post, as we leave the warmer Autumn weather for the more colder winter, we share a review of their new Brumby Boots which comes in three attractive colours.
These Brumby Boots were created after Gumbies had great success with their Outback slippers which they developed using traditional felt making techniques and machines but with an Eco twist by using PET yarn made from recycled plastic bottles. So these boots are created inspired by the iconic Australian elastic sided work boots which are worn by Aussies just about everywhere and used for everything and if you are wondering. Also, ‘Brumby’ is aptly named after the wild horses of Australia. Keep on reading to find out more about these boots.

What I thought of the boots
I am not a fan of the cold hence having a good pair of comfy boots which keeps my feet my feet warm is so important to me. I found that these Brumby boots tick both of those as they are fabulous for wearing around the garden, when heading out for a quick shop or even indoors. What I love most is that these boots are that they are vegan-friendly and made from PET yarn (plastic bottles)… 8 bottles to be precise! These boots come in sizes UK 3 to UK12, I personally love supporting sustainable brands hence would recommend Gumbies any day.
As for size, I am a half size ie 5.5 so ordered a size 6, it is slightly big on my feet but was perfect with the insoles as well as thick socks. Would recommend going a size down instead of up if you are also a half size if you don’t prefer to wear insoles. The boots were soft to touch and super sturdy and comfy as well. I found myself sliding into and out of the boots easily. I also loved the fact that insoles are sold separately, so you can protect the inner sole of the boots for longer. These soles are made from 100% Castor Bean which is a plant (that has been of course processed into the foam inner) and then topped with the same recycled felt that the rest of the slipper is made from.

Where can you buy a pair of Gumbies Brumby Boots?
These comfy boots come in three colours, charcoal & red, grey & charcoal as well as navy & grey. You can get your pair of boots here.
How much are Gumbies Brumby Boots?
They cost £40 with free UK delivery, and replacement inner insoles cost between £10-£15 and come in four colours as well.

About Gumbies
Michel Maurer is the founder and creator of Gumbies. He started his business based on simplicity, with his idea to create shoes that would suit a life that is less complicated. Which is exactly what he did when he came up with the Outback Flip Flop. Now he has a much more within his range including, sliders, deck shoes, brumby boots, and outback slippers. Gumbies have also included children into the mix too, with their classic Islander flip flop.
Gumbies head office is actually in the seaside town of Poole although it’s inspired by Australia. So much so that the map of the country featured on its shoe logo. The focal part of the Australian influence is from the Aboriginal culture and the tradition of Walkabout which occurs at the age of 16 and is a right of passage. This aspect of exploring the world and freedom that occurs through simple living is what has inspired Maurer to make Gumbies into what it is today.
