Sunday Roast Dinners are one of our family’s favourite meals and we roast all sorts of meat joints from chicken, beef, lamb to even turkey during Christmas. For those who are unaware, the Sunday Roast is one of Britian’s best-loved dishes (with Curry still holding the top spot), the meal usually consists of a roast meat dish (or nut roast for vegans/vegetarians), roast potatoes, roast root vegetables such as parsnip and carrots, greens such as peas cabbage, kale and this served with freshly baked Yorkshire pudding and homemade gravy/sauces. Ever since moving to the UK, this has become one of our favourite meals where we sits down as a family to enjoy on a Sunday. Having a good professional carving set and a spiked stainless steel carving tray is so important especially if you want perfect sliced meat. In this post, we feature ProCook‘s Professional X50 Carving Set and their Spiked Stainless Steel Carving Tray which was sent to us for the purpose of this review.

ProCook Professional X50 Carving Set

ProCook Spiked Stainless Steel Carving Tray
The 35cm x 25cm sized carving tray is a great size for any type of meat from chicken to a much larger bird like the turkey. The 5 spikes are perfectly positioned to hold the meat while you carve it, so it does not slide around the tray. The tray also is raised in the centre to drain away juices while the meat rests. The tray which is made from high-quality stainless steel comes with a 1-year guarantee.

How much does the Carving Set and Tray cost and where can I purchase them?
The ProCook Professional X50 Carving Set costs just £44 (similar products are typically sold at £89) whilst the ProCook Spiked Carving Tray costs just £12 (comparable products usually retail around £17). You can also head to local ProCook shops located at Freeport Talke and Trentham Gardens, if you’re local to Staffordshire or The Lowry in Manchester. You can locate the closest store to you by visiting the Store Locator here.

What did we think of it?
In our household, my husband is the one in charge when it comes to carving the meat and he totally loved the carving set and tray. We have always loved the ProCook brand as it is reliable and their product has always been of high quality so we were pleased with both the items. The carving set came very well packaged in a box with proper protective plastic covers for the sharp ends. The spiked stainless steel tray worked well too, if you watch the video below, you can see that the roast chicken did not move at all. The tray also came with protective plastic covers for the spikes which is crucial as they are sharp. We only wished the carving tray came with a box as well. Would we recommend getting the carving set? Yes, of course, having a good carving set is so important as it makes slicing the meat so much easier by providing evenly cut meat. The carving tray is also a must-have as cutting meat on a plate can be really difficult as the meat ends up sliding everywhere and this can also be dangerous.
Here’s a short youtube video showing the tray and carving set

That’s a really nice carving tray. My husband was always in charge of the carving too, nowadays though, my oldest son has taken over the tradition!
How wonderful! I hope my son would do the same once he is old enough as well.
